AND THE BEAT GOES ON......

I got the urge to get out my Djembe drum, put on some tunes & do some soulful drumming.  I'm sorry to say that I don't get much use out of it that was intended.  Let me tell you the story of the hows & whys of this drum. 

(You know the song)  Here's the story, it's sad but true.....

I discovered that drumming classes were being offered the first & third Saturdays of the month in the basement of my favorite nearby health food/gift store.   Yay!  I always thought that this would be a neat thing to do.  My friend & I decided to go check it out. 

What fun!  I loved it!  I was excited.  Sooo, I went right out & bought this pretty drum & set out to have some fun.  And I did for a while, but sad to say, I attended all of 2 or 3 gatherings.  

Then there were no more.   

Mind you, they had been gathering for about 7 or 8 years, but due to a sudden dispute between the organizer & one of the attendees, they no longer get together.   I could not believe this!  BUMMER!  Anyways... 

So now, here I have this really neat drum, but I only get it out once in a blue moon when the mood hits. 

I still enjoy its beauty & beating out a

few tunes now & then. 

And the beat goes on......

TELL-ME TAROT

Finally, finally, I am learning to read the tarot cards.  I have always had an interest in "the cards", & have tried several times, but never managed to make myself buckel down and apply myself to get those darn cards memorized.  I'd start out all enthused, then get tired of having to look up the meanings in the little book to see if I "got it right" & then end up putting them aside for "another time".   It's such a long process.  I know, I know...  Good things come slow!  :-) 

This time I AM DETERMINED to get it done!  I did a lot of reading & had a hard time trying to decide what cards would be good to begin with.  There were a lot of opinions & options out there.  Lol, I now have three decks! 

Given my past experience, I have decided to start out with the "TELL-ME TAROT" cards with the meanings printed right on the cards themselves.  They're short & right to the point making them easier to memorize.  Now, I have to admit, that a few of the cards with their meanings didn't quite stack up for me, but overall, I think they will work best for starting out.  Actually, out of the three, I really like & feel a connection to these cards already.  I have done a few readings & I was very amazed at how accurate they were.  A nice plus about these cards is when your done learning the cards, the bottom can be cut off. 

To help keep me motivated & for anyone who is interested in the "Tell-Me Tarot" deck, , I thought that it would be fun to post my daily tarot draw in the process.

Whoa... I'M A POET & DON'T KNOW IT! ... kinda sorta

Lol,  A poet???  Notta!  Not by a long shot,  But... I was doing one of my favorite sports, Blog Hopping, & came across this blog that posted this neat site to try your hand at writing a poem of your own.  It was suppose to make me smile.  I was inspired!  I gave it a try... it did and it was fun!  The set up is very simple, very easy.  Sooo... if you've ever wanted to write a poem, but thought you didn't have the knack for it, go ahead & give this a try.  It really was fun!  (That is until I tried to post the link up.)  This most likely will be the one & only poem that I will ever write!  ;-)   

MY POEM 

I used to worry I was unmotivated
I used to believe life was helter-skelter

I used to wish I was more creative
magickal
intuitive.

Then one night
I looked out my window
and saw a moon

A beautiful
mystical
perfect moon.

I nearly choked
on the epiphany

We arrive inside
an envelope
of bones

There is nothing to be done
about this

So fill it with optimism
let it brim
with wisdom.

DO TELL ME TAROT

What an absolutely FUNtastic day! 

This was just another one of those great days spent with my best friend, Cytrine.  We started out mid morning with a tastey brunch at our local Bistrol, and then adventured on in hopes of finding a Jewelry/Rock Shop, whose awesome wares we had encountered at a festival this past summer, to do some crystal shopping.  We did find and we did buy!  What FUN!  We then topped off this magickal day, with some delish cocktails and some amazing tarot readings.  (I am learning to read tarot cards and will be posting more on this subject as time goes on.) 

The cards do tell all!
