FIRST SPRING BAZAAR OF THE YEAR

What a FUNtastic day! Though a little cool, the weather was perfect today as my friend Cytrine & I headed out for our "girls day out" to the first craft bazaar of the year.  Always fun to see all the different crafts & ideas that folks conjure up.  The creativity just never ceases to amaze me.  Folks are just so creative & talented.

A TOUCH OF SPRING & A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY

Oh, what a glorious day today was.  So energizing & pretty.  The sun was brightly shining & the temp was 76 on my car thermometer.  Gotta love that!  Spring is definitely in the air, & on everyone's blog, & I too, just had to take some pictures of my first blooms making their debut! 

And to make the day even more grand, today was our youngest granddaughter's birthday.  She turned 10 today.  This year was a "dream come true" special birthday for her, as her birthday present from her Mom & Dad was a flashy black & white pinto pony.  She was so excited. 

She had been wanting a pony for a very long time. 

Of course there were a lot of  "horsey gifts" at her party.  

I can tell you, she is one happy little girl.

A Glorious Day indeed!

HAWK SIGHTING

Right outside of our window!


This Hawk has been dropping by to visit us the last few days.  He's quite a handsome fellow.  I've been trying to get a picture of him & finally I was able to get a shot today before he flew off.  Not great, but will do.  I will try again for a better one if he comes back. 

HAWK POWER, MAGICK MESSENGER

Hawk is the messenger, the protector and the visionaries of the Air.  It holds the key to higher level of consciousness.  This totem awakens vision and inspires a creative life purpose.  A Hawk totem is filled

with responsibility because Hawk people seek the overall view.  Be careful not to be caught up in the

details; step back (or fly high) so you can see the big picture.  Observe and study your surroundings and

work on accepting things the way they are, rather than forcing change.  Soar high above the mundane and

everyday problems and find the peace and power that comes from having a Hawk totem.

A Red-Tailed Hawk totem is special.  It has direct ties to Kundalini, the seat of primal life force.  It is

AND THE BEAT GOES ON......

I got the urge to get out my Djembe drum, put on some tunes & do some soulful drumming.  I'm sorry to say that I don't get much use out of it that was intended.  Let me tell you the story of the hows & whys of this drum. 

(You know the song)  Here's the story, it's sad but true.....

I discovered that drumming classes were being offered the first & third Saturdays of the month in the basement of my favorite nearby health food/gift store.   Yay!  I always thought that this would be a neat thing to do.  My friend & I decided to go check it out. 

What fun!  I loved it!  I was excited.  Sooo, I went right out & bought this pretty drum & set out to have some fun.  And I did for a while, but sad to say, I attended all of 2 or 3 gatherings.  

Then there were no more.   

Mind you, they had been gathering for about 7 or 8 years, but due to a sudden dispute between the organizer & one of the attendees, they no longer get together.   I could not believe this!  BUMMER!  Anyways... 

So now, here I have this really neat drum, but I only get it out once in a blue moon when the mood hits. 

I still enjoy its beauty & beating out a

few tunes now & then. 

And the beat goes on......

TELL-ME TAROT

Finally, finally, I am learning to read the tarot cards.  I have always had an interest in "the cards", & have tried several times, but never managed to make myself buckel down and apply myself to get those darn cards memorized.  I'd start out all enthused, then get tired of having to look up the meanings in the little book to see if I "got it right" & then end up putting them aside for "another time".   It's such a long process.  I know, I know...  Good things come slow!  :-) 

This time I AM DETERMINED to get it done!  I did a lot of reading & had a hard time trying to decide what cards would be good to begin with.  There were a lot of opinions & options out there.  Lol, I now have three decks! 

Given my past experience, I have decided to start out with the "TELL-ME TAROT" cards with the meanings printed right on the cards themselves.  They're short & right to the point making them easier to memorize.  Now, I have to admit, that a few of the cards with their meanings didn't quite stack up for me, but overall, I think they will work best for starting out.  Actually, out of the three, I really like & feel a connection to these cards already.  I have done a few readings & I was very amazed at how accurate they were.  A nice plus about these cards is when your done learning the cards, the bottom can be cut off. 

To help keep me motivated & for anyone who is interested in the "Tell-Me Tarot" deck, , I thought that it would be fun to post my daily tarot draw in the process.
